I will miss Max very much. For three summers from 2021-2023, I was one of his doting leaders, as he grew into the role of Assistant Leader (AL). What a privilege it was to come back every summer and to hear how Max was doing and to see how he was growing. He loved his church and loved university. By his third year as an AL, he took a leadership role within the group, being up early (putting us all to shame) and selflessly serving the rest of the team in his quiet manner during the busy camp week. "Max has done it" was a repeated phrase when we remembered a task at the last minute. In that year, I remember being so proud of and thankful for him. Max's smile was so unexpectedly wonderful. He looked so serious normally, but when he did smile, I remember feeling such joy. He was a star in our group in many respects. I'll share some fun videos of him in the stories. I'm thankful that his faith was genuine. I'm sad that life can be so painful. I and others in the Glod team are praying for his family.
