When we were young, my siblings and I (Laurie, Daisy and Anna) used to play a time travelling game with Max and Tom. Max and Anna had the same t-shirt with little pictures of people from different time periods on - Romans, Tudors, Bronze Age etc. We'd be in Max's room, and one of us would spin around and point at Max's top - we'd then time travel to that time period together.

We'd leave the spaceship and go and find Laurie, who was acting as someone from that era and would give us a mission. However I remember how much Max loved to immediately run/jump at Laurie and start playfighting.

We would get lost in that game and spend hours playing - I remember not wanting to leave Sheffield and when we did, thinking about when we'd be able to play it with Max and Tom again.

That game remains one of the most memorable in my childhood, and that's thanks to Max for bringing it to life. I really believed we had to tackle that caveman down.

I will always remember how much silly, escapist fun we had with Max. Thank you, Max, for the laughter and memories.
